We constantly strive to educate and inspire our people of all ages to get involved in their community conservation efforts. Beyond partnering with local and national leaders in conservation, we also have our own initiatives.
We Support Conservation Efforts
We are proud to have the majority of our paper come from sustainable sources. FSC is a global not-for-profit organization that sets the standards for what is a responsibly managed forest, both environmentally and socially. Almost all of our paper is FSC compliant.
The United States uses about 30 billion plastic and 10 billion paper grocery bags; requiring approximately 14 million trees and 12 million barrels of oil annually. Each one of our high quality reusable bags has the potential to eliminate an average of 1,000 plastic bags over its lifetime. This not only helps to reduce the strain on our landfills, but also reduces the impact of manufacturing them.
To celebrate Pollution Prevention (P2) Week September 10-19, we are offering one Better Bag for every 20 plastic bags donated to our recycling location at the aquarium.
