Do sharks attack people on purpose or is it just a case of mistaken identity??
Sharks don’t prefer humans for a meal but they do on rare occasions suffer from mistaken identity. It’s likely that many attacks on humans can be attributed to confusing us with more natural prey such as seals, sea lions or sea turtles. The best way to prevent this from happening is to avoid areas where shark prey like seals are known to congregate, wear light colored clothing, avoid excessive splashing, and stay together in a group.
